During a year where summer abroad has been nearly impossible, Dior’s Maria Grazia Chiuri brought Southern Italy to us. Held behind closed doors, Cruise 2021 was delivered via livestream. In an ode to local artists and artisans, floor-grazing gowns, detailed accessories and coveted bags were presented behind a glittering backdrop.
The stunning scape was emulated in an exclusive presentation for media and influencers last month, where, a desire for travel was once again quenched. Now, the public and clients are invited to explore the collection in the heart of Sydney’s CBD.
Direct from the house of Dior, David Jones Elizabeth Street on Level 7 will house the collection and cupola setup. From now until January 14, experience the new culty accessories – the Dior Caro Bag, D-Trap footwear and Dior & Moi heel – as well as key ready-to-wear garments not normally held carried boutiques. Echoing the iconic, flower-embroidered Miss Dior dress by Christian Dior, artist Pietro Ruffo has imagined a field studded with ears of wheat evoking a summer landscape. A narrative of untamed nature is transposed onto long, light cotton dresses, shirts and shorts.
Escape the sweltering heat for air-conditioned solace, and be inspired by the meticulous craftsmanship of Dior.
