US-based restaurant chain Domino’s Pizza has opened its first location in Croatia as the company seeks to further enhance its global footprint.

The company opened its first store in the country at the Croatian capital of Zagreb through a master franchisee.

Operated by All About Pizza, the store will offer dine-in and home delivery services.

All About Pizza CEO Nils Gornall said: “I am so proud of the team that helped bring the global Domino’s brand to Croatia.

“We look forward to sharing our delicious products, excellent customer service and prompt delivery with the citizens of Zagreb.”

The new store features a pizza theatre design and provides customers with a front-row view to watch the pizza-making process.

The pizza chain will open another location in Zagreb, with additional store openings planned next year.

Domino’s international executive vice-president Joe Jordan said: “We are honoured to have our master franchisees building beautiful pizza theatre stores in countries all over the world and attracting new customers to our dynamic brand.

“We are pleased that now we can bring this experience to the people of Zagreb.”

Founded in 1960, Domino’s Pizza now operates in more than 17,100 stores across 90 markets globally.

Last year, the company registered global retail sales of more than $14.3bn. In the second quarter of 2020, Domino’s posted $3.4bn in global sales despite the Covid-19 crisis.

In June, Domino’s Pizza started offering car-side delivery service across all its outlets in the US.
